654 Km – 12.09.2019

Today I have been bullied via email by MME (Mitsubishi Motors Europe) for daring to open a ticket in Japan.

“I do not answer kindly to bullying, so I write...”

Only 2 trip computers. In a world where memory is cheap this car has only 2 trip meters? Only 2! My only car that had less then that was a ’92 year car and it was analog! Mitsubishi where I can donate 2 cents for you to put another 20 trip computers on every PHEV you make? You will ask why do I need more than 2 trip computers. The answer is that this car does not have a way to display EV km and ICE km (Internal Combustion Engine). I want to know how much I used the engine (time and range). The only work around is to use Trip A as EV km and Trip B for ICE, but this is not accurate because the engine keeps stopping and starting every couple of meters.

“NO set charge value”

NO possibility to charge to as specific value, like 90%. NO possibility to select the charge amperage, in case you do not use a dedicated wall socket with its dedicated circuit barker and you have to use a socket used for other appliances as well. The charging cable provided with the car charges at max 10Ah, this may be OK if you have a 16Ah charging infrastructure as most of the homes in Europe have, but takes longer to charge, much longer (5-6h in total for max 11kWh). If you want to charge to a specific value (let’s say 90%) you can’t, the only way is to calculate how much energy is left in the battery, low long it takes to reach a specific value at a rate used by the charger and program a timer to stop charging after x hours. Mitsubishi put a proper battery into this paper weight of a car, at list 20 kWh, guaranty a number of charges to 100% and discharges to 2% (500 for example) and let me use the battery as I please, to charge it to 90% and discharge it to 20% if I want to extend the life of the battery and when I need it allow me to use all of it. I know best what I want, how I want it and when I want it not you Mitsubishi!
